Animal diagnostic laboratory launched in Uganda

Uganda Meat Producers Cooperative Union Ltd. in partnership with Zoetis A.L.P.H.A Initiative have set up two animal diagnostic laboratories in Butalangu – Nakaseke district and Nabitanga in Sembabule district. The animal diagnostic laboratories was launched on Friday 1st March 2019 at the Golden Tulip Canaan, Kampala.

Zoetis is a global animal health company dedicated to supporting customers and their businesses in ever better ways. The A.L.P.H.A initiative “Africa Livestock Productivity and Health Advancement” seeks to increase access to critical livestock disease diagnostics by underserved areas in Africa.

Zoetis will provide veterinary diagnostics training, educational material for farmers, as well as digital tools facilitating related processes.

The UMPCU/Zoetis partnership will help build animal health diagnostics as a viable business that helps farmers in disease control and detection.

The function was attended by the ALPHA Inititative Director, Zoetis teams, UMPCU, among other guests.
