This is why you need the silage cutter machine.

Silage cutter
The machine is basically used to cut animal feeds for animals such as cows, goats, and sheep, among others.
It is a multipurpose machine that cuts both fresh and dry grass but also crushes maize cobs into bran for feeding animals such as pigs.

Operation
The silage cutter uses diesel oil and in an hour, it can cut or crush one and a half tones to two tones of grass or cobs depending on the speed of the person who inputs the pastures.
It also has a low consumption level of fuel. Ten litres of diesel for example can be used to cut three tonnes of pasture.

Specifics
It comes with different nets/plates which are used to determine the size of cuttings one wants to make.
The plate that is plain and without holes is used to cut silage/ fresh grass and the one with small holes is used when one is going to crush maize and the one with big holes is used for cutting dry grass.

Milling cobs
It can crush maize cobs that still has corns or those without the corn.
The machines also come in two major sizes: a small size at Shs3m with a 6.7 horse power and the medium sized at Shs5m with eight horsepower.
They do not easily get spoilt and even in case it does, a metal fabricator can be able to fix it.
However, over time, the inner shaft may get spoilt, and that may require you to call an experienced mechanic. The machine can be found at 4DIZ Group located in Muyenga, Kampala.

Why chop fodder
The beauty of having pastures chopped is that animals use less energy when they are feeding, which facilitates their weight gain and subsequently, their production.
It will also help you do more work in a shorter time, avoiding time wastage and labour.
It is powered by an engine, so a farmer just feeds pasture into it as it carries out the chopping.
On the down side, the machine may require servicing due to effects of wear and tear.
However, since the machines are locally manufactured, their spare parts can be easily got and at a cheap price, not to mention that some breakdowns do not require a lot of expertise in machinery but can be fixed by a metal fabricator.

Grass and other pastures are among the most commonly used animal feeds, largely due to […]

[42,38

post-3195","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-farming-news","category-trending
["GET
