The lack of transparent, timely and reliable livestock marketing information and information related to stray livestock is a great challenge to the development of the livestock industry in Uganda. Without access to information about livestock prices at different markets, farmers are unable to identify the best markets for their products.

Jaguza Livestock App is a livestock Information system that provides farmers with marketing information and stray livestock knowledge base system. The main goal of Jaguza Livestock is to assist farmers in  rural Uganda to be able to access and maximize the benefits of using technology to make informed marketing decisions and identify appropriate markets for their livestock and also be able to search for their livestock from our knowledge base system.
Jaguza Livestock uses a combination of the internet and mobile phones (SMS and USSD) to disseminate livestock marketing information and to also track their livestock on our knowledge base system. The expansion of mobile networks provides a unique and unparalleled opportunity to give rural smallholders access to information that could transform their livelihoods. Mobile applications play a big role in mitigating some of the informational costs that producers in developing countries face in obtaining better yields, increasing their income, and managing uncertainty.
